Lorraine Palmer - Return

2008 – Completed USCG approved courses for OUPV Near Coastal, Master 100 Ton Upgrade and Towing Endorsement. Completed STCW Basic Safety Training in Personal Survival Techniques, Elementary First Aid and CPR, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities and Basic Marine Fire Fighting at The California Maritime Academy. Coast Guard Captain’s License application pending.

2007 – Participated in the Bitter End Yacht Club week-long Pro-Am regatta on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.

2006 – Organized a Day on The Bay charity sail benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

2004-2005 – Participated as core crew in the Global Challenge circumnavigation yacht race. The race took place over ten months and covered 33,000 sea miles on a 72 foot yacht with ports of call on five continents.

2003 to Present – Participate in San Francisco bay racing on numerous boats including the J/120 fleet, the Santana 35 fleet and week night race programs at South Beach and Oakland Yacht Clubs.

2003 to Present – Member of OCSC, Berkeley, CA. Completed Basic Keelboat, Basic Cruising, Bareboat Cruising and Big Boat Asymmetrical Spinnaker classes. Charter 24-40 foot boats.
